No auditions, no experience required. Shower singers and pros share the fun in this warm, welcoming group.
The GMC Adult Chorus is our original ensemble, now 100+ members strong.
We present at least two new concert programs every year, with live instrumental accompaniment.
Our music is as diverse as our membership: we sing every choral genre, arranged for mixed choir (SATB), female (SSAA) and male (TTBB) voices.
If you enjoy a challenge and are keen to learn a wide variety of new music, whether by ear or reading notes, you are welcome to join us.
All members, regardless of musical proficiency, should plan to attend rehearsals regularly and practise their parts at home.
Every chorister receives a package of sheet music to keep. Other helpful resources, such as part-specific learning tracks, an events calendar, and weekly rehearsal plans are provided on the Choir Genius platform.

At the first rehearsal, you will meet with our musical director, Melody Dobson, for a short placement interview. This is NOT an audition. Melody will ask you to sing an easy song (anything you like… Happy Birthday is very popular!) so she can place you in a section of the choir where your voice will blend in.
Every section sings harmony parts (yes, even the sopranos), which may feel daunting to you if you have never sung anything but the tune. It takes time - at least a few months - but with the help of the practice tracks, you will get the hang of it. Once you do, we know you will agree: singing in harmony is absolutely the best part of belonging to a choir!
